I’m playing along with….

CAS(e) this Sketch!

ConC2I used one of my favorite stamp sets “Happy To Be Friends” (C1605) from Close To My Heart. It has 17 stamps in the set so it’s amazingly versatile!

I used White Daisy card stock along with Canary Yellow to give it the fun pop of color!

I love how the Slate Grey ink is a soft and unexpected look. The flowers are stamped in Lagoon and Canary ink. Then I fussy cut and used 3-d foam tape to mount them. I had to add a sparkle in the center of each flower because it’s prettier like that!  I’m sure you understand.

I used the cool heart washi tape, paper fundamentals, white shimmer trim and bakers twine to complete the card.  I hope you like it!

Thanks for stopping by. I really appreciate your feedback.

Thank you for coming to our little HOP! If you have arrived via Krista H. then you are on the right track! If you get lost OR you want to see all this fun artwork again you can always start at the beginning with Dana K. Once is never enough!!

I’m always inspired when the NEW Seasonal Expressions hits my mailbox! I grab it and disappear to my favorite spot to savor and enjoy and all the yummy goodness. Close To My Heart has done it again! (no surprise there!) This SE2 is amazing.

For my blog post I am highlighting the very pretty, very feminine, very flowery paper pack called Blossom (X7196B). Even the name makes me smile. The color palette is soft and spring like. A mothers day card? A baby shower invite?  Even a wedding or baby boy.  If you like this blog post be sure to follow me on Insta-Gram! I post all my card creations and more! You can find me at “Denise Anderson Turley” ( I know – not cute or funny or even remotely creative! I just thought I’d be easy to find!)

On to my card!! BUT first – when you get your hands on your SE2 be sure to check out the adorable Workshop on the GO for the Blossom Paper pack. It is a “have to have”!!

Now, On to my card! I’m smitten with flower stamp sets. I can’t help it. Everyone needs more flowers! I used the stamp set called “Shower Flowers” C1612. It’s only $13.95! Such a deal. You have so many sweet flower and text choices! I used complimentary colors – which are always easy to copy! I stamped the flowers on White Daisy card stock using the two step stamping technique. It’s the one where you stamp the image once-twice-three times to get the same color but in different intensities. I fussy cut them to create a bouquet! I used 3-D foam tape to give them some pop! A bit of ribbon and sequins. Last but not least the word image is from the NEW Carnivale Washi tape! Kinda fun to use it that way!

Thanks for hopping by! Now you should pop over to Debbi F. and see what she has created. I know you won’t be disappointed!!

Freshly Made

freshFMS Final 175-001Clean and fresh. I rather enjoy a sweet simple card that is easy on the eyes and easy for any crafter to create!

This weeks challenge on the Freshly Made Sketches blog is PERFECT for the Picture My Life scrapbooking program cards from Close To My Heart!  Picture My Life – Project Life? You say “potato”,  I say “potahto”. If you like and have used project life goodies then you’ll LOVE the Close To My Heart Picture My Life goodies!!  These cards are awesome for Pocket Scrapbookers AND so fun for Cardmakers and Paper crafters!

For this card challenge I started with a 5×7 White Daisy card. I layered it with the cute Hopscotch background and texture (patterned) paper. (This paper pack is only available until the end of March!) I added Kraft card stock (cuz I really love Kraft card stock and it goes with everything!) then I adhered one of the adorable Hopscotch Picture My Life cards on the opposite side of the same patterned paper that I already used! I love, love the versatility of Close To My Heart  papers!

Then I dry embossed the flowers with the heart embossing folder  (also CTMH). Some Pixie Pink thick twine, gold sequins and bitty sparkles finish off this design perfectly!

I hope you like my card creation! I also hope you will leave a comment! I love being a Close To My Heart consultant and March is gonna be an awesome time to join the party! Contact me and I’ll share the amazing details!

Playing With Paper!

paperplaypp233Playing with paper has been part of my life for 23 years! So creating for The Paper Players challenge is a no brainer. I love making cards and sharing my passion for all things paper!

For this weeks card I started with a 5×7 base (side fold) using Close To My Heart  Whisper card stock. Next I layered Sunset and White Daisy card stock to build my focal point on. The sketch has a circle so I knew I wanted to use a darling stamp set called Happy to Be Friends. I layered the flaxen colored background and texture (patterned) paper from the Hopscotch paper pack and created a wide banner from the opposite side of the same patterned paper. I cut the scallop and plain circle from the Close To My Heart Art Philosophy circuit cartridge.

I stamped the design using Flaxen, Sunset, Sorbet and Whisper inks. A few sparkles, a piece of slate ribbon with a tiny charm hanging down completed this card.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you’ll leave a comment.

Color Throwdown!

colorthrowdownswatch+331This is a new challenge for me! The Color Throwdown! And I’m totally intrigued by the concept. It’s an “anything goes” with the design BUT the colors are what counts! I love this weeks palette. Pinks and greens are always bright and happy. Springtime! Friends! Fun!

I started with a 5×7 Kraft base card-side fold. I used White Daisy card stock to Pop the hot pink background and texture (patterned) paper. The papers are from Close To My Heart. The Brushed paper pack has all the colors I needed for this color challenge. So Cool! I mounted another piece of White Daisy and some more of the patterned paper to build my focal point on.

The cute stamp is from the exclusive “Hostess Only” stamp set called “Better with a Friend”. (A good reason to be a Close To My Heart Hostess!) I used Shin Han markers to color in the design. I added coordinating embellishments including Stuck on You puffies (only available until thru the end of march!) Extra Thick Pixie Twine and bitty sparkles. The word strips are from the “My Crush” Pink Sticky Tabs. So easy and fun to add to all your paper projects.

And there it is. I think it’s a fun card to give a daughter or a friend. Someone who likes to shop!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you’ll leave a comment.

Monday, Monday….

mojomojo386Here’s to another Mojo Monday! This week is Tall and Skinny. And super cute! I used the Heartstrings Paper Pack for this design and the Heartstrings Complements! They are the matching sticker sheets that I unstuck using cornstarch! How fun it that?!

Here’s the Skinny on the card. It measures 5.5 x 3.5 with a side fold. I used two patterns in the paper pack to create the base. I added visual interest and a pop of color with a little bit of Lagoon card stock. Tied some twine,  adhered the images with 3-d foam tape to pop them up and Viola! It’s a quick, tall and skinny card. That will fit into an A2 envelope!

All products used for this card are from Close ToMy Heart. Thanks for stopping by! I hope you’ll leave a comment.

Orange, Teal & Brownfusion

It’s always fun to jump into a Fusion card challenge! This week I decided to work with the color palette – and not the sketch.  I think it turned out great!

I used the Seaside paper pack from Close To My Heart. It had the three colors from the photo that I was looking for. Perfect! My Colonial White card base measures 5×7 with a side fold. I layered the orange and brown background and texture paper or B&T (You can call it patterned paper too, wink wink!) to create my card front. My stamped image is from a “Hostess Only” exclusive set called “Better With a Friend” ( D1608.)  Also,  Close To My Heart. I cut my long skinny oval and long skinny scalloped oval from one of my favorite circuit cartridges, Art Philosophy.  Cocoa ink was just right for the sentiment and the shopper! I used colored pencils to finish off the image.

A few Glitter Gems, Bakers twine and swingy little charm and the card is ready to go in the mail!

Thanks for looking! Be sure to leave me a comment for a chance to win this card! I’ll send one lucky person the “real” card! Check out my R.O.C.K. on Close To My Heart for all the details on my awesome CTMH giveaways!

Fresh for You!

Freshly Made Sketches is one of my favorite card challenge blogs! It makes me work hard to tone down my usually card making! I like layers and do-dads and lots of stuff on my cards! But this challenge always brings it back to simple and beautiful! You can see all the samples at Freshly Made Sketches 174.

I love how this turned out! And it was easy to create once I started cutting my paper! I used pretty Champaign card stock from Close To My Heart as my card base. It’s a 5×7 size which I think adds to the elegance. I layered Gypsy card stock to pop the color from the “stickease” that I used. (I found some Sonoma (retired) stickers whilst cleaning out my Studio space. Lucky for me!)  I put the border “stickease” on the White Daisy card stock at an angle and then dry embossed that piece with the Vine embossing folder. I used cornstarch to unstick the flowers and sentiment-that way I could use 3-d adhesive to accent the focal point. A few gold sequins and I was finished! So lovely.

Mojo Monday…

is always a fun challenge! This week I turned the design on it’s side for a unique point of view! You can see all the samples here at MOJO385

My base card measures 5×7 and I used Kraft card stock from Close To My Heart. Then I layered and dry embossed Champaign card stock to build the design on. Cleaning out my studio space (always an adventure!) I came across some older “stickease” from a paper pack called Sonoma (retired). The colors are still so pretty and the “stickease” are perfect for cards as well as the original Scrapbook pages. I did stick the angled stripe “stickease” on before I dry embossed the Champaign layer. I used Kraft card stock and dry embossed it with the “vine” folder. I added a tiny edge of Gypsy card stock to pop the bit of color!

To finish the design I used some pretty bakers twine and a few sequins. “Heartfelt”  is mounted on 3-d adhesive to enhance the sentiment. I think this turned out dang cute! I always put a neutral piece of card stock on the inside of the card to make it easy to write your note on.
