Fresh for You!

Freshly Made Sketches is one of my favorite card challenge blogs! It makes me work hard to tone down my usually card making! I like layers and do-dads and lots of stuff on my cards! But this challenge always brings it back to simple and beautiful! You can see all the samples at Freshly Made Sketches 174.

I love how this turned out! And it was easy to create once I started cutting my paper! I used pretty Champaign card stock from Close To My Heart as my card base. It’s a 5×7 size which I think adds to the elegance. I layered Gypsy card stock to pop the color from the “stickease” that I used. (I found some Sonoma (retired) stickers whilst cleaning out my Studio space. Lucky for me!)  I put the border “stickease” on the White Daisy card stock at an angle and then dry embossed that piece with the Vine embossing folder. I used cornstarch to unstick the flowers and sentiment-that way I could use 3-d adhesive to accent the focal point. A few gold sequins and I was finished! So lovely.

Leave me a comment for a chance to win this card! I’ll send one lucky person the “real” card! Check out my R.O.C.K. on Close To My Heart for details about my awesome CTMH giveaways! Thanks for stopping by!

  1. This is so pretty! I love the white background and the other colors look so pretty against that neutral backdrop. Thanks so much for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches.

  2. Layers and do-dads may be your comfort zone – but you are very, very good at simple!! This is a beautifully clean card but with so much interest in the patterned strip and the lovely flowers. The embossed background is the perfect touch. Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.
