Fusion Fun

For fall. (Sorta). I loved the colors of this challenged and knew right away which paper pack I wanted to use. It’s retired from Close To My Heart– but I am a good crafter. I buy everything I like and I know that one day I will get to use it up!! Right?? I am also using the same patterned  papers to create the “pinecones” on page 46 of the Annual Inspirations Catalog. A labor of love if ever there was one! What a tedious task they have turned out to be. But super pretty when they’re done!! I’ll post the final results at a later date if you’re interested.

But you’re not here to listen to me whine about those pinecones! Let’s get started with my card creation. Fusion Card Challenge is one of my favorite card challenge sites. I love how they let you choose the color or sketch. Or both! So cool.

My card is 5 x 7. The base is Desert Sand and it has a side fold. I layered Barn Red and Champagne card stock along with some patterned paper from the Huntington (retired) paper pack. I cut the Cocoa card stock ovals from the Art Philosophy cricut cartridge so that my focal point would pop! I added the bottom banners under the scalloped band. Then I used a sanding block to distress the whole thing! I don’t sand a lot but for this challenge I thought it was a perfect design element.  The colonial white gross grain ribbon (also retired!) tied in a bow with a sweet little rose charm pulls the card all together. I love the fall feeling and the sentiment.

Hope you like!
