December is full of activity! So much to do! So little time! Close To My Heart has a brand new Mini-Catalog “Seasonal Expressions” that I know you’ll love! It’s important to spend time being creative. Even when you’re busy! A little “me” time can refresh your crazy month! So slow down and enjoy all the new stamps, papers and fabulous accessories that you’ll find in this little gem!
My project for this hop is way out of “the norm” for me! I was introduced to “SHEart” at the Close To My Heart team builders event last month. It was so uncomfortable to just cut paper and to re-assemble it with NO pattern! What a roller coaster. But I did it and I have to say I learned a lot! This is my second attempt at “SHEart” and I think it turned out awesome!
I used the darling new Hopscotch paper pack. I cut a 6×6 piece of the Background and Texture paper to build my scene on. The base is the CTMH 6×6 canvas display. I cut and trimmed and pieced the papers until I was happy with the basic shapes. I printed my words from my computer onto Background and Texture paper. I used regular adhesive to glue everything into place. Then I started stamping designs around the edges. I added flowers, hearts, and the cute little peace sign! I used black archival ink, sorbet, lagoon, and desert sand. I colored my hair with the new ShinHan markers blending the colors together. I outlined everything with the black journaling pen. I used a sponge brush to apply Mod Podge to the canvas and then put my design on top. I added Mod Podge all over the top to seal the design. Last- I added the Glitter paper for the suns rays! I used regular adhesive, but the design was still wet and the glitter paper stuck on easily. And there you go!
Now you can HOP on over the my sweet friend Sheri R. and she what she has created!
